Why We Need Our Own Building

Our community has grown and so have the needs we strive to meet. We outgrew our current location years ago, and with that, the visions we had for Gg’s House have remained confined to notebooks and conversations rather than becoming reality. Owning a larger building would allow us to expand our services—mentoring individuals in life skills, hosting community classes and workshops, providing a space for arts and crafts, and even offering a warming and cooling center for those in need.

When we moved from Gaston to Forest Grove, we had high hopes that many of these ideas would take shape. However, COVID-19 struck soon after our move, changing everything. As other organizations shut down, we saw an urgent need for food, clothing, and essential supplies. Gg’s House stepped up and remained open, adapting our plans to make sure basic needs were met.

Over the past year, we’ve explored buildings that came up for sale, dreaming of a space we could call our own. Yet, the timing and location were never quite right, and we weren’t ready to take on the responsibility of ownership—until now.

We are asking for your support in purchasing this building, which will allow Gg’s House to serve the community in more ways than ever before. Whether it’s $1 or more, every donation brings us closer to making this dream a reality. To show our gratitude, we will create a board listing the names of everyone who helps us secure our new home—a lasting reminder of the generosity that made it possible.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
